NO Modifiers

It was a Monday night and I went to bed early knowing I had an early class the next day. My alarm clock went off the next morning, and I realized I was late. I jumped out of bed and raced to put my clothes on. I struggled to find everything in the dark as my roommate was still sleeping. I ripped my drawers open to snatch my books out of the desk. I found my hat as my hair was a mess and bolted out the door. I sprinted across campus and jumped through the doors to the building. As I was running through the halls I had to dodge other students and faculty in hopes of getting to my class as soon as I could. I glanced at my watch just before I entered the classroom and noticed I was ten minutes late already. I blasted through the doorway only to find the class had been cancelled.

  1. This assignment was so difficult-- it took quite a few revisions. Sometimes you do not realize you're using a modifier. I feel this assignment was very helpful because it helped you to be aware of your writing and help to identify unnecessary words as well as helping your writing for the future.

  2. I tried writing a blog with no modifers as well. It was pretty hard. I am not sure if i even did it right. I agree with Vanessa on the fact that this assignment makes us aware of the unneccesary words we use. It also made me realize nouns and adjectives make writing and reading more enjoyable and fun.

  3. This is funny story which is well done without the modifiers. It’s probably the worst feeling in the world when you wake up and you know your late for something, whether it be class or a meeting it’s terrible. I feel in those situations it’s not worth getting all worked up and running around like a nut because what’s the difference if your five minutes late or ten. It’s pretty ironic your class got cancelled, it’s a good twist.
